The ring debarker is used for initial processing of the log, removing the bark.
The machine debarks logs of various diameters, from a minimum of 15 up to a maximum of 96 cm. Debarking parameters can be adjusted according to the wood species and hardness.
The log to be debarked is fed into the machine by a dual chain conveyor chain with offset attachment plates and overhead pressure rollers that immobilise the log during feed. At the centre of the machine, a five-blade rotor assembly strips the tree trunk bark. The rotor is driven by a 37 kW electric motor controlled by an inverter; blade pressure is regulated from the operator workstation. Stripped bark is conveyed into a tank below the machine and extracted by a scraper chain.
