Ring debarker

Log debarking machine

The ring debarker is used for initial processing of the log, removing the bark.

The machine debarks logs of various diameters, from a minimum of 15 up to a maximum of 96 cm. Debarking parameters can be adjusted according to the wood species and hardness.
The log to be debarked is fed into the machine by a dual chain conveyor chain with offset attachment plates and overhead pressure rollers that immobilise the log during feed. At the centre of the machine, a five-blade rotor assembly strips the tree trunk bark. The rotor is driven by a 37 kW electric motor controlled by an inverter; blade pressure is regulated from the operator workstation. Stripped bark is conveyed into a tank below the machine and extracted by a scraper chain.

Directly from the console located in the debarking machine’s control cabin, the operator can

  • Set rotor speed
  • Govern feed advancement speed
  • Set the holding pressure of the blade rotor arms according to species bark and seasonal factors
  • Open the blade rotor arms
