Usually in line with the log saw machine, the edger transforms the planks into prismatic boards.
The machine’s loading system automatically selects the boards, and a laser system measures their length and width.
Once measured, the board is oriented and positioned on the machine entry feed point. The movable blades installed inside the edger are positioned according to the measurement data so that the plank is trimmed without material waste.
The outgoing prismatic boards are stacked in baskets in the various unloading pits and the waste conveyed to the evacuation tank.
